Breakfast Forum: See No Policy, Hear No Policy, Speak No Policy: Washington Retirement Update on Tax Reform, Fiduciary Rule, and Lawsuits

As Washington attempts to enact tax reform, retirement plans have found themselves in the crosshairs of the fight.  In addition, the DOL’s re-definition of fiduciary advice could significantly impact the way employers and employees get retirement investment advice, but its future is uncertain.

To add icing on the cake, litigation continues to skyrocket, with employers paying enormous settlements.  Join us as we discuss how this impacts your business, your participants, and practical solutions.   Attendees will learn:

  • how various tax reform proposals in Washington could impact qualified savings plans;
  • how the DOL’s re-definition of fiduciary advice impacts retirement plans, advisors, and recordkeepers, and an update on the current status and potential future of the rule; and
  •  how recent ERISA litigation is impacting fiduciary decision making and plan design.
