This course, presented by Mark McCreary, Senior Benefits Advisor of the Department of Labor (DOL), will encompass the following:

  • Basic rules of Fiduciary Responsibility under ERISA, who can act as a fiduciary, primary duties and limits of duties.
  • Reporting and disclosure requirements
  • Getting it right by avoiding common problems regarding contributions, prohibited transactions and selecting service providers
  • Voluntary Fiduciary Correction Program

 
About Our Presenter

Mark McCreary joined U.S. Department of Labor, Employee Benefits Security Administration, Los Angeles Regional Office, in 2005 as a Benefits Advisor for the Outreach and Educational Assistance Unit, where he provides technical assistance to employers, service providers, and participants regarding ERISA-covered benefit issues.  He has facilitated
numerous presentations on compliance topics to various groups including plan sponsors, third party administrators, and human resource staff members.
