Members-Only Specialty Session: Short-term and Long-term Incentive Plan Design and Related Issues

Few programs can drive the success of a company better than a well designed and implemented performance-driven incentive plan. Short-term and long-term incentive plans can help ensure the team's focus is properly aligned with company goals and shareholder interests.

During this specialty session, John Schultz of Denver Compensation & Benefits, LLC, will discuss short-term and long-term incentive plan design and related issues, including the tax considerations and implications under Internal Revenue Code Sections 409A, 162(m), and 280G. Which performance criteria should the company use in measuring performance?  How should the performance criteria differ for long-term incentive plan awards vs. short-term incentive awards? How can the company most effectively communicate its incentive plans to shareholders? What are some of the common pitfalls to be avoided, particularly in the areas of payroll and Internal Revenue Code Section 409A?

A box lunch will be provided to all participants.
